"The Romantic Egotist"? For the non-literature obssessed, this page
title is a reference to F. Scott Fitzgerald's first novel, titled (what
else?) This Side of Paradise. "Umm, that doesn't sound like
'The Romantic Egotist' to me...", you say. Well, of course it doesn't!
Fitzgerald's original title for the book was "The Romantic Egotist"; he
changed it before it got published (this is not a bad thing). The
protagonist of the novel, Amory Blaine, is "the Romantic Egotist".
I think I am like Amory. I'd explain why but it's all really rather
boring, so I won't. This site is about me, my life, and what I like
and don't like about it. So I have named it that. Also, Fitzgerald
wrote a really good book; I mean it, he did. In all honesty, I really adore
that novel. That is all there is, there isn't any more.
Copyrights... The Romantic Egotist is probably property
of the Fitzgerald Estate (whether or not he actually called the book that)
and used here without permission. The main page image is of Frank
Sinatra (another of my idols) and used without permission (but with the
utmost respect and reverence). That is most likely property of the
photographer who took it. I apologize for my unauthorized use of
both these items. No copyright infingement is intended. (I
don't make money off of this site, I am merely a humble site builder writing
html for personal enjoyment). Please don't sue me, I'm dirt poor.
If any of the above mentioned parties does not want me using their property
I'll gladly remove it.
